The Periodic Table of Metal

This is the Periodic Table of Metal…Heavy Metal. It is glorious. Learn it, know it, live it.

Periodic Table of Heavy Metal

I would also have accepted (pun inteded) Accept for the ‘Ac’ element. “Metal Heart” was a tremendous metal album, and who can forget the killer anthem, “Balls to the Wall”?

But Rush? Totally NOT METAL. Neither is Marilyn Manson, nor Van Halen or Def Leppard.

However, props are also due for the inclusion of  Manowar.  Saw them in the mid-80′s, and my ears are still ringing. And Saxon is one of the more underrated metal bands of all-time.

Wow, linkin park but no Tool? This table is a joke

What amazes me is you query Rush, Van Halen and Def Leppard (both which are considered members of the Heavy Metal Fraternity in the purest sense of being ‘heavy metal’ as a tag) but not Linkin Park, HIM, Mr. Big (seriously? Mr Big?), Papa Roach, Rage Against the Machine and didn’t notice Satyricon was spelt wrong?

The inclusion of Apocalyptica and Mr Big would be the big 2 I’d question. The rest (while dodgy at best in the case of Nu Metal) I don’t have an issue with, although on the whole it’s a pretty dodgy periodic table.

    Only problem with this table?

    Ain’t big enough…it’s hard to read :)
